Track Report for Tuesday 1st December 2009 - Glenda Bruce

It was good to have some newcomers for the Roadster races on Tuesday night. Nineteen races were held over the course of the night beginning with the two lap Roaster race. Catlin Spessot was first, Ben Masterton second and Sam Masterton third.
The Junior four lap graded handicap race was won by Lauchie McGregor, second Caitlin Kelly and Logan Jenkins third.
The Senior graded handicap race was won by Kat Jones, second Charlotte Kelly and Brad Evans third.
Logan Jenkins was winner of the Junior Devil race with Sam Kelly second and Bailey Koppert-Duggan third. Senior B Devil was Amy Pearce first, Stu Thomas second and Kat Jones third. Senior A Devil was Brad Evans first, Mark Spessott second and Alex McGregor third.
The Match sprint final saw Danial finish second place to the winner Charlotte Kelly.
The placegetters in the Junior six lap Scratch race was Bailey Koppert-Duggan first, Lauchie McGregor second and Sam Kelly third.
Senior B Kat Jones first, Aylesha second and Stu Thomas third.
Senior A Danial first, Chris Henderson second and Shane Melrose third.

Track racing is held at the world class track at Seddon Park, Mosgiel. Access to the Velodrome is through the car park off Wickliffe St, or through the walkway off Green St. The Velodrome is of concrete construction and has been designed by world renowned track designer Mr Ralph Schuermann.
The clubrooms were completed in early December 2000. There are changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities on the ground floor, with club rooms, kitchen and commentary facilities at track level. There is space for approximately 150 people in the adjoining grandstand. The main Lounge has been named the Max Scott Lounge after the late Max Scott.
The track is available for any cyclist to train on most of the time. Keys to the main gate are available through Melvin Tudor for a very reasonable cost.
Track racing commences on the first Tuesday of October and run every Tuesday night through to the New Zealand Track Nationals (the last week of February or first week of March). Report time for racing is 6 pm, with racing starting at 6:30 pm.
Races fees are

$5 for seniors and under-19's;
$2 for under-17's;
$1 for roadsters.

Roadsters are permitted to ride any roadworthy bicycle. The club has a supply of track bikes for the under-17's.
