It&#8217;s an outdoor facility with 250m of smooth, fast concrete.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone is welcome to join track cycling. \u00a0New riders of all abilities and ages are always given a warm welcome. If you don\u2019t have a track bike, we can hire you one. Get in touch to find out how you can get involved. Additionally, our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/cyclingotago\">Facebook<\/a> group is where we post regular updates on our track programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Upcoming Track Cycling Meets:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Specific features this year (2025\u201326) include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>4 weeks of Taster sessions for novice riders to learn track skills running (Thursday nights. Juniors 5pm, seniors 6pm) commencing 9th October. Cost: free, but you need to register at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.webscorer.com\/cyclingotago\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>www.webscorer.com\/cyclingotago<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<span class=\"ml-rte-link-wrapper\" data-redactor-span=\"true\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Structured Quality Training (SQT) sessions during October, these are designed for experienced riders to ease back in to track riding (Thursday nights 7.15 pm), commencing 9th October. Cost = free<\/span><\/li>\n<li>2<span>2025\/26 Club racing calendar for all categories.\u00a0 Racing begins Thurs Nov 6th.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As per the racing calendar, Thursday night club racing will work on the basis of an A,B and C racing schedule, which means everyone (riders and managers) will know precisely what racing is occurring when. Track managers have been assigned for every night throughout the track season. Gearing limits apply and differ by grade; they are listed in the racing calendar.<\/p>\n<p>All track riders need a Cycling New Zealand licence to race, however the 2026 licences are not available until 19 November. You&#8217;re free to race unlicensed up to then as signing up before 19 November will only give you a 2025 licence. Racing on the 25th November will require a 2026 licence. Licences can be obtained at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnewzealand.nz\/become-a-member\/\">https:\/\/www.cyclingnewzealand.nz\/become-a-member\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>Please spread the word and encourage existing riders or new riders to get down to Seddon Park Velodrome.
