Veteran rider Bryan Murray showed age is no limit, winning both senior C scratch races at the Seddon Park Velodrome last night. Murray, who took up track riding this year, rode off the front with 2 laps to go in the first race of the evening and could not be caught, finishing ahead of Ray Lucas and Tracey Havard. In the penultimate 12 lap scratch race Murray chased down a strong attack by junior Megan Foley, catching her on the home straight. Ray Lucas was second with Foley taking 3rd.

In B-grade another newcomer Jon Wansink took out both scratch races, finishing ahead of Bailey Saville and Nick Hosking. Wansink, who has a strong road background, worked well with Kees Duyvesten in the final 24 lap scratch race to hold off a chasing group of 5 riders, and took  line honors. Ella Harris was the best of the chasing riders, finishing in 3rd.

A small but fast A-grade saw a thrilling finish between Brad Evans and Stu Crooks in the 32 lap scratch race. Evans is on form after a winter racing in America and cleaned up A-grade races on the evening.

In junior B, Thirza Smith won both the 5 and 8 lap scratch races, working in a two-person break with Siân Remon in the first to finish ahead of James Gardner.  A breakaway in the elimination race saw Richard Van Aalst ride solo to victory. Grace Hurring rode a feirce race to finish in 2nd ahead of James Gardner. There were also notable rides from Olivia MCDonald and Caleb Rollo in roadster class.

Mark McCormack rode strongly to finish ahead of Bradley White and Madelaine Cooper-Forster in the Junior A 10 lap scratch, after also taking the 6 lap scratch race victory.
