Welcome to the Cycling Otago Road page
The club runs a comprehensive road programme throughout the year with two season calendars issued. We hold cycling events and races to suit everyone and every experience level including providing beginner riders support to mix with and learn from more experienced road cyclists.
Events and races take place around Otago – the scenic Otago Peninsula, the Taieri plains, the hills surrounding Dunedin and further afar. During daylight savings join us for Monday Night Racing each week; our Memorial Classics offer longer weekend handicapped races, and we have lots of other variety in between such as hill climbs, criteriums and time trials.
New riders are always welcome, and are encouraged to contact the club captains or road programme team members for more information.

Juniors
Junior racing is run at each race when demand is met, with the course being determined based on the number and age of juniors present, but will usually be around 20km.
The club has a number of junior bikes available for Cycling Otago members for a period of 6 months to give new riders the opportunity to give the sport a go without a huge investment. For more information contact Chris Ford (chris.cgford@gmail.com). Good quality second hand kit and shoes may also be a possibility, contact Rachel Harris (rachey.harris@gmail.com).
Information for race managers
Club members are expected to manage and marshal races throughout the season. The race kit with information and timing devices should be obtained before the race. If any of information sheets are not present in the briefcase, please print the following out and ensure they are left there after the race.
