Held on the Winter Worlds circuit around Henley/Berwick, which includes Berwick Hill, it’s sure to be a great afternoon’s racing — with extra bragging rights attached for the winners.

Anyone can race, but to be eligible for championship placings and prizes, you must be a Cycling Otago member.

Distances

The 19km circuit around Henley/Berwick (Winter Worlds course) includes the Berwick Hill. A Grade-4 laps (76 kms), B Grade-3 laps (57ks), C Grade-2 laps(38ks), Junior Cat 1-2laps (38ks) and Junior Cat 2-1 lap (tbc-might be shorter course 10km).

Timing

1pm-1.30pm sign on at the Henley Community Hall on Centre Road.Briefing 1.45pm and racing to start at 2pm.

Cost per race

All riders $20.00 except for Junior Cat 1 and Junior Cat 2, $10.00. This event is for Cycling Otago Members, though anyone can race, though you won’t be eligible for prizes. If you want to become a member, you can join through Cycling New Zealand here.

Entry criteria, categories and ages

A Grade, B Grade and C Grade will have age groups of Under 19, 19-34yrs, 34-49yrs, 50-59yrs, 60+.

Junior Cat 1 and Junior Cat 2.

Depending on entry numbers we will be separating age group starts, e.g. Under 35yrs will race together, over 35yrs will race together.

To be eligible to win the naming rights on the prestigious Otago Championship Cup you will need to enter the 19-34 years and OPEN category, if this category is out of your age limit then you will potentially forfiet winning a trophy in your age group but be eligible to be the Otago 2025 champion, this is due to the split starts we anticipate (numbers depending).

Cycling Otago event management uphold the right to promote any rider (in discussion) to a higher grade, this will be evaluated by current/previous form/results etc.
